West Grand Avenue - Main Street to Meridian Avenue (2026-2040)
West Grand Avenue from Main St to Meridian
The proposed West Grand Avenue reconstruction will be a much needed project in the City of Haysville. Street reconstruction and an additional 10' multiuse pathway along the north side of West Grand Avenue from North Main Street to Meridian Avenue will positively impact the City of Haysville in a variety of ways. West Grand Avenue is a minor arterial that runs through the heart of Haysville's residential core. Because of its centrality this vital segment conveys traffic for Rex Elementary School and Haysville Middle School. Riggs Park (Haysville's largest and busiest park), Colt stadium which fields all high school and middle school athletics, and Haysville Municipal Pool patrons all use this length of bicycle/pedestrian path.
According to the asphalt pavement rating developed by the MAPA and utilized as a scoring system by the City of Haysville, the section of roadway in question receives a score of 99 out of a total 100 points possible. The current roadway is in great working condition, but constant wear and tear from everyday commutes will paint a different picture on the anticipated project implementation in 2030.
The addition of a 10' bicycle/pedestrian path on the north side of West Grand Avenue will extend from Campbell Drive to Meridian Avenue. Completion of this segment will provide bicycle/pedestrian traffic a 10' path spanning the entire length of Grand Avenue from Broadway Avenue to Meridian. This vital stretch of pathway through the heart of Haysville will provide a safe and well-lit route for students and citizens alike.
